刚落幕的2006中国互联网大会发布的《2006年中国博客调查报告》显示，在接近3400万的博客空间总量中，有超过70％的博客，平均一个月更新不到一次，成为名副其实的”睡眠博客”。

中国互联网协会互联网政策与资源工作委员会公布了这个报告。报告显示，截至2006年8月底，博客作者已经达到1750万，注册的博客空间数接近3400万，而博客读者则达到7500万以上，但博客发展仍面临三大问题，一些潜在的问题也显现出来，博客空间浪费严重是首要问题。在接近 3400万的博客空间总量中，有超过70％的为”睡眠博客”，也就是平均一个月更新不到一次。这对互联网络资源造成了巨大浪费。二是博客服务供应商的服务不理想导致用户满意度低。此外，博客流动严重也是博客市场的不稳定因素。
